Important cancellation update of UTLO 2025

With great sadness and deep emotion, we are forced to announce the cancellation of UTLO – the Ultra Trail del Lago d’Orta – originally scheduled for October 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2025.

This is a decision we never wanted to make, especially considering that the event has always taken place, even in extreme circumstances: during pandemics, in adverse weather conditions, and through countless organizational challenges. But this time, the situation we are facing is of an entirely different nature.

One of the founding members – the heart, mind, and soul of the event – is facing a serious and sudden illness. His vision, passion, presence, and expertise have always been the driving force behind us since the very first edition. Continuing without him, at this moment, is not possible for us – neither morally nor emotionally.
This is not just an organizational decision: it is a choice of respect, of closeness, and of humanity.

That is why we have decided to pause, to take care of our team – in fact, our family – and to honor the spirit that has always made this race something more than just a competition.

We are confident you will understand the deeper meaning of this decision. We thank you for the affection, patience, and trust you show us year after year.
For us, UTLO is a celebration – of the beautiful sport of trail running, of being together, seeing friends, laughing, and having fun… but right now, that celebration cannot take place.

With hope, we look forward to returning on October 16th, 17th, and 18th, 2026 – stronger and more united – once again carrying the spirit that has always set us apart.

All existing registrations will be fully refunded via the same method used for payment.
